Sierra Golf is located in the heart of the beautiful Murcia countryside. Surrounded by mountains and citrus orchards it is just a short drive from the lovely, rural, villages of Balsicas, Avilieses & Sucina. It is just a 20 minute drive to the beach resorts of the Mar Menor and Orihuela Costa and only 20 minutes from the new Region of Murcia Airport.
Construction of the infrastructure of the first phase of residential properties and the golf course at Sierra Golf Resort commenced around 12 years ago. Construction stopped here shortly after due to the global financial downturn leaving only 9 holes of the course completed and many of the properties here unsold or even unfinished. 2 years ago the whole golf course, the surrounding building land and the existing phase of unsold properties were all purchased by a large, well established and cash rich developer. They are now investing millions in regenerating both the course and the local infrastructure and are planning to build 100's of new properties where the previous developer left off. A new 9 hole extension to the golf course is planned along with modern new designs of villas both in the adjoining village and front line to the course. The remaining properties left unsold by the previous developer have all been fully refurbished and modernised and are now being offered at exceptionally low prices.
Sierra Golf Club has a pro-shop and a bar/restaurant and there are a couple of small bars, cafes and shops in the urbanisation as well as community bar with pool which is open to all residents.
