La llama beach resort takes its name from a local beach area of the same name is part of the sand dunes and salt flats of San Pedro Del Pinatar.  This protected natural area is part of the wetlands at the Northern most point of the Mar Menor Sea where it meets the Mediterranean and is is home to a wide variety of water birds including a large colony of pink flamingos. Residents of this unique coastal resort at the meeting point of 2 seas have two different types of beach experience right in their doorstep.  The flat, golden sandy beaches of the Mar Menor located at Lo Pagan and Santiago De La Ribera feature warm, shallow and non-tidal waters, ideal for water sports and families with young children. The Mar Menor beaches are joined by the coastal road and have long wide promenades with cycle lanes and paths running their entire length for around 7km. There also numerous water sports clubs, children´s play parks, beachside cafe bars and restaurants  The slightly wilder undulating dune beaches at El Mojon many of which hire out sun longer and parasols during the Summer months. To the North and just 2.5km from the development are the wilder dune beaches of El Mojon and Torre De La Horadada with their fine white sands, crashing waves and trendy beach bars.
