Although one of the lesser known of the Costa Blanca's seaside resorts, Torre de la Horadada is also one of the prettiest of the southern resorts with attractive coastline and seafront walks as well as a charismatic watch tower dating from the time when pirates sailed these seas. There are long, golden, sandy dune beaches at the southern end of the resort as well as a more secluded cove beach close to the towns main square. There is great clifftop terrace on the edge of the central plaza which has a number of cafe bars and ice cream parlours which have fantastic views of the delightful small marina and out to the beautiful blue waters of the Mediterranean. This small peaceful seaside town's central plaza is just a only about 100m from the sea and has a great choice of very good restaurants offering, amongst others, Spanish, Italian, and Indian cuisine. There are also a few shops and bars here in this main plaza as well as a number of large, modern supermarkets, bars, restaurants and shops in thenewer residential areas of the town which are just a few minutes walk from the central square.

Despite the age of its tower, Torre de la Horadada has seen most of its development during the last 10 years. With an ever increasing demand for coastal holiday homes this small seaside town of Torre De La Horadada has experienced a period of significant growth as the 2km of open land between the main town of Pilar De La Hordada, of which Torre De La Horadada is the coastal extension of, and the beach area has been developed. Luckily, the various developers building here have been respectful of this charming coastal town's quaint and peaceful image and all the new residential properties have been low rise constructions of mainly detached modern villas or stylish townhouses and apartments on low density complexes.

Torre De La Horadada is located in the region of Alicante right next to the border with its Southern neighbour Murcia and is just a 30 minute drive from the new Region of Murcia International airport and around 50 minute's from Alicante. The more lively resorts of the Orihuela Costa (Campoamor, Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca and Punta Prima) are only a short distance away tothe North and the more traditional Spanish Mar Menor resorts of Lo Pagan, Santiago De La Ribera and Los Alcazares are all within 10 minutes drive to the South.

In addition, Murcia's second largest city, the histroric Roman port of Cartagena is only a 25 minutes South of Torre De La Horadada and the Southern Costa Blancas main cities of Torrevieja and Alicante are both under an hour away.

There is a number of high quality new developments under construction in Torre De La Horadada and its neighboring town of Mil Palmeras and whilst property prices remain reasonable we have seen a significant increase in the last 12 months. The town's low key, exclusive feel coupled with its beautiful unspoilt beaches and charming old central plaza have attracted buyers from all over Europe with demand greatly outweighing supply. This trend appears to be continuing and we are seeing prices continually increasing as each phase of the development is sold. Such is the demand for new property in this area most new develpments are completely sold off-plan shortly after release. The good news is that many major developers are continuing to show interest in the area and we expect there to be many more new and exciting projects planned for at least the next 2 to 3 years. Our advice for anyone looking to purchase in Torre De La Horadada would be buy now before prices rise any further.
