If you are looking for something a little more lively then a further 10 minutes away are the popular beach resorts of Vera Playa, Garucha and Mojacar Playa were you will find water parks, beaches and nightlife. The whitewashed artisan hilltop town of Mojacar Puebla with its narrow shopping streets and open plazas overlooking the sea is also just a further 10 minutes drive away. 

Heading 15 minutes North up the coast brings you to the beautiful and historic port city of Aguilas. Here you will find both the old and new with large modern out of town shopping centres and traditional city centre plazas with central gardens and fountains surrounded by street cafes, bars and restaurants. There is also an impressive marina and golden sandy beaches all overlooked which by Aguilas´s famous hilltop castle. The larger and more famous Roman city of Cartagena is only a further 30 minutes drive away and as anyone who has visited the city will confirm it is well worth several visits.
